Helen Dunmore (1952-2017) wrote her first novel 'Zennor in Darkness' (1993).She won the inaugural Orange Prize for Fiction for her second novel 'A Spell of Winter' and her other bestselling fiction included the novels 'The Siege.','The Betrayal.' (Booker Prize nominee) and 'Exposure.'. 'Birdcage Walk' was her last novel.Dunmore also wrote books for children and YA readers (1992- 2002 - excluding her picture books which followed 2010-2017,including the novels that form the Ingo Chronicles.Also an award-winning poet,her final collection,'Inside the Wave',written in the months leading up to her death,is both a meditation on mortality and a celebration of life in all its quirkiness and outcomes.
